Liu Lab, Fifield Hall 1206-1208
We are located in the beautiful Gainesville campus at the University of Florida. Picture taken at Lake Alice which is about five minutes walking distance from the lab.
Tie Liu, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor Office: Fifield Hall 1213, Phone: 352-846-2638, Email: [email protected] Twitter: @ltie52 Tie Liu completed his graduate studies at Peking University and Yale University under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Nelson and Dr. Xing-Wang Deng, focusing on cell-type-specific transcriptional regulation in the rice genome using Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM). For his postdoctoral research, he joined Dr. Dominique Bergmann's lab at Stanford University, where he pioneered comparative genetic and cell imaging approaches to identify stomatal gene functions in rice and maize. He later continued his research in Dr. Kathryn Barton's lab at Stanford, investigating transcriptional regulatory networks involved in plant meristem and leaf development. Currently, his lab focuses on understanding how plants integrate developmental and abiotic stress pathways in both model and horticultural crops. Additionally, his team is characterizing genes and gene regulatory networks involved in postharvest senescence and deterioration using quantitative genetics, genomics, phenomics, and genome-editing approaches. |
